OUR TUOLUMNE was created with a simple belief: informed communities are stronger communities.
Every day, decisions are made that affect our roads, public safety, schools, local businesses, natural resources, neighborhoods, and quality of life. Yet for many residents, finding clear, balanced, understandable information about what’s happening in our county can be difficult.
OUR TUOLUMNE exists to help bridge the gap, to truly be engaging, and help you feel involved.
We strive to make local issues easier to understand, highlight the people and organizations making a difference, celebrate what makes Tuolumne County special, and encourage thoughtful conversations about the future of the place we all call home.
Whether it’s explaining a Board of Supervisors agenda, sharing wildfire preparedness resources, highlighting a local nonprofit, telling the story of a longtime resident, or covering a community event, our goal is always the same: to provide information that helps strengthen our community.

About OUR Founder
OUR TUOLUMNE was founded by Tim McCaffrey, a longtime Tuolumne County resident, graphic designer, photographer, and community volunteer with a deep appreciation for the people and places that make the county unique.
After years of following local issues and becoming increasingly involved in community organizations, Tim recognized the need for a resource that could make local government more understandable, celebrate the people doing good work throughout the county, and encourage greater community involvement.
He created OUR TUOLUMNE with the belief that informed residents make stronger communities. His vision is to build a trusted resource that helps people stay informed, discover local stories, connect with one another, and work together to create a stronger future for Tuolumne County.
While Tim launched the project, the goal has always been for OUR TUOLUMNE to become something much larger than one person, a community driven resource shaped by the people who call Tuolumne County home.
